Collection: Tinctures

Tinctures are a concentrated, alcohol-based, plant extraction which can include herbs, roots, or flowers.

The alcohol helps extract the medicinal properties of the plant such as polyphenols (a group of antioxidants), tannins (used for soothing the digestive system or promoting wound healing), alkaloids (nitrogen-containing compounds with strong medicinal properties that can be used for pain relief, stimulation, or relaxation).

Alcohol acts as both a solvent and a preservative, which allows the tincture to have a long shelf life.

Tinctures are typically taken in small doses and can be taken directly or diluted in a drink.
