Hi, I’m Isabel! A folk herbalist, mother of three little boys, and the hands and heart behind Nettle & Rose.

My herbal journey began when I was pregnant with my first baby. It was in that transformative time that I realised what an immense gift and responsibility it is to care for another human being. I wanted to nurture my children in the most natural way possible, free from the chemicals and toxins that fill so many modern products.

It felt natural to turn to the earth, to remember that, for every ailment or ache, nature has already given us what we need.

What started as a mother’s curiosity became a lifelong passion for herbal medicine. Over the years, between late-night feeds and toddler giggles, I began creating and testing remedies at home, first for us, and then for others who wanted the same simple, trustworthy care.
Together with my husband, Reece, we’ve poured our hearts into building a family business rooted in love, intention, and connection.

Why “Nettle & Rose”?

The name carries both strength and softness, just like our family, and the plants themselves.
Nettle, rich in minerals and vitality, nurtured me through pregnancy and postpartum. It is bold, protective, and grounding; much like the masculine energy my husband brings to our work.
Rose is gentle, heart-opening, and deeply feminine; a reminder of nourishment, tenderness, and beauty.

Together, they represent balance; the harmony between masculine and feminine, practicality and intuition, family and nature, action and nurture.

How We Create

Our remedies are handmade in our kitchen, often after the kids are tucked into bed. Reece spends hours researching and communing with the plants, while I work intuitively, blending, tasting, and adjusting until it feels just right. Every formula we share has been used and loved in our own home first.

Our very first creation, Mama’s Magic, was made for our first son’s nappy rash. It worked so beautifully that friends and family began asking for jars of their own. From there, one remedy became many, all crafted to support real families in real life, through the beautiful chaos of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
